The IAFP Nominating Committee is seeking one active member from the state to serve an At-Large position on the IAFP Board of Directors. 

IAFP Board of Director priorities/interest areas include: Education, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), Advocacy, Workforce, Member Engagement, Pathways, and Operations. 

You may nominate yourself or another active member for consideration by the committee. Any active IAFP member in Iowa is eligible for this position.

Important Update

Extension of Postpartum Coverage

for New Mothers

 The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved Iowa’s extension to 12 months of postpartum coverage for new mothers. However, due to the timing of the approval, this change will not take effect until a later date, likely April 1. In the meantime, new mothers under the 375% Federal Poverty Line (FPL) still have sixty (60) days of postpartum coverage. Providers, their patients, and office staff can reach out directly to Iowa HHS for further assistance. https://hhs.iowa.gov/postpartum-coverage

End of Life Care Course Available On-Demand

Need state mandated CME? IAFP is offering an on-demand state mandated CME course on End of Life Care. See below for more information and registration.

Iowa-licensed physicians are required to complete 2 hours of Category 1 credits for end-of-life care every five years. These requirements became effective August 17, 2011, are for physicians who provide primary care to patients (e.g., emergency physicians, family physicians, general practice physicians, internists, neurologists, pain medicine specialists, and psychiatrists.)
