Dear New and Returning Families,
Welcome! The Puesta del Sol PTA is so excited for the new school year and we can't wait to share all the amazing things we have been planning. There are new and returning extracurricular activities, social events, fundraisers, new volunteer opportunities, and so much more! If you have been dreaming of ways to connect with other families in our community, please let us know! We would love to have your help imagining, networking, and organizing for this school year.
The past few years have been momentous for us. Covid affected our community in so many ways, but we have also had significant other changes! We moved our entire school to a new building, mid-year. We have said "good-bye" and "hello" to several school teachers and administrators. After years of shifting expectations and changes, I firmly believe that our school is ready for a FUN year.
As PTA President this year, I am focusing on community-building from a base of kindness and joy. When your family has the time, please show up and have FUN with us. If your family is experiencing difficulty, please reach out to either myself or any of my fellow volunteers on the PTA Board. We will help you to the best of our abilities.
I can't wait to see all of you at school!

Scholastic Bookfair Volunteers
Dear Families:
I’m excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, which will take place from October 2nd-5th in Puesta del Sol's Library.
For many students, it’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year—but we need volunteers to make it happen. We hope that you can offer your time and talents to help students experience Bookjoy firsthand! And every purchase at the Fair directly benefits our school. So, it’s a win-win!
If you’re available to lend a hand at this upcoming event, please contact me and share which Fair activities interest you most. Opportunities to assist include:
• Advertising • Decorating • Setting up the Fair • Helping with cash registers • Translating communications for social media • Helping with Teacher Preview • Helping with volunteers
I look forward to hearing from you!
Gratefully,
Tara Jones
Book Fair host

Greetings! I'm Josué, I'm 25 years old, and I'm from El Salvador. I have a variety of hobbies that keep me busy, including reading, watching movies, playing video games, and taking long walks. I also recently completed my bachelor's degree in Modern Languages with a specialization in English and French. I am eagerly anticipating a year filled with exciting experiences and meaningful connections. My main goals for this journey include immersing myself in American culture, expanding my teaching skills, and building lasting relationships with students, fellow interns, school teachers, and my host families. I can't wait to explore new places, share my culture, and grow both personally and professionally during my time in the U.S.
¡No puedo esperar a comenzar esta nueva aventura junto a ustedes, nos vemos muy pronto!
