8th Grade Girls taking their Finals

Barakat's Female Students

were back in school to give their final examinations at Mullah Kareem Nazar School in Andkhoy, Faryab Province of Afghanistan. This is a historic development since girls above 6th grade were prohibited by the Taliban from attending school over the last few months. They were, however, permitted back to give their final exams and there is an expectation that all girls from 1st to 12th grade will be back when school reopens in September, after summer break.
