This week is Get Involved Week! Students can visit the Spriet Lounge in the Student Life Centre to explore opportunities to become involved in the King's community. Get Involved Week gives students the chance to learn about clubs, groups, and events on campus that they can participate in.

New version of Alert WesternU available for download
Alert WesternU, Western’s emergency mass notification system, alerts all current members of the university community, including King's, by email in the event of imminent danger, building evacuation, severe weather emergencies (such as a tornado), or critical university status updates.

USC Health and Dental Plan Opt-Out Deadline
September 23, 2023, at 11:30 p.m.
All full-time tuition for King’s students includes the USC Health and Dental Plan. You may opt out of the plan if you have equivalent coverage under another plan. You may also opt out of the Virtual Doctor plan. The opt-out information is available on the plan website.

The King's University College Students' Council (KUCSC) is opening up their nominations for Vice President Student Affairs (VPSA) and any un-filled Representative positions. If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved with your academic and/or student community, these are the positions for you.

Join the Development and Peace Student Group
Interested in joining a group dedicated to peace, justice, and social causes? Passionate about creating change through education, advocacy, and fundraising? The Development and Peace Student Group aims to cultivate a profound understanding of how we can protect and preserve our planet, its inhabitants, and their rights in the face of ongoing challenges. Join them in making a difference!

Students Gather with Indigenous Elders
The Ecological Justice course held its first class in the reflection circle at King's.
Ecological Justice highlights the connections between colonialism and environmental destruction. In holding a welcoming ceremony at the reflection circle with Indigenous Elders Dan and Mary Lou Smoke, students had the opportunity to further understand the centrality of decolonization to ecological justice and the power of storytelling as Indigenous knowledge sharing.

King's Connection Selling Orange Shirts from Atlohsa
The King's Connection shop is selling orange shirts from Atlohsa Family Healing Services. The shirts cost $22.99 with sizes ranging from small to 2XL. Proceeds go back to Atlohsa, a non-profit organization aiding community members impacted by residential schools and colonization.

King's Chamber Choir Seeking New Members
Our very own award-winning King's University College Chamber Choir is looking for new members of all voice types. We are a vibrant and welcoming community of people who have a passion to sing in a wide range of musical styles and perform two concerts a year. We rehearse on Thursday evenings. Whether you’re a student, faculty member, professional officer, staff, or alumnus, if you have a love of choral singing, then we would love to hear from you!

Veritas Lecture Series

Joanne and Peter Kenny Theatre, Student Life Centre
The Veritas Lecture Series brings together speakers from a variety of backgrounds to explore the depth of human experience and and share important truths.
In this year's President's Lecture, titled "Dibaajimowin: Kinship, Healing and Storytelling," Summer Bressette, an Anishinaabe storyteller, artist, educator, curator, and consultant from Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, will explore the role of family, land, and language in Anishinaabe storytelling and the role that storytelling plays in healing intergenerational trauma.
Current students who attend this event will be given a credit on their co-curricular record.

MEM Career Readiness
Career Readiness workshops will help you enhance your professional, technical and networking skills. Students who attend a certain number of Career Readiness events by their third year at King's will qualify for the record on their co-curricular activities and a certificate from the Registrar's Office. This program is open to all students but tailored to the students in the School of Management, Economics, and Mathematics.

Join us for Sunday Eucharist
Masses are offered in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount (WOTM) on Sundays at 10 a.m. and at 5 p.m. followed by the community meal in the parish hall. Weekday Masses will be on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at WOTM and noon mass on Thursdays and Fridays at King's Christ the King Chapel.
