Arc Hosts Fun Carnival Inside New Arc Park
Smiles, laughter, awe and excitement were in abundance at The Arc's biennial Carnival last Saturday.

Carnival guests, community partners and volunteers were excited to see the first phase of the Arc Park, which is now officially open.

Children were entertained with fun games, magic shows and appearances by Sluggo and Disney Frozen princesses Elsa and Anna.

Many wonderful memories were made at this year's Carnival. Watch this video to see all the fun!

Free, Fun Activities Occurring Now Inside Arc Park
Now that the first phase of the Arc Park is officially open, it is time to continue the summer fun! The Arc will host free activities inside the Arc Park this summer for people of all ages to enjoy.

See the Arc Park July Calendar to see the activities scheduled this month, and make plans to join us! All activities are free; however, preregistration is required so we know how much materials to have on hand.

The Arc Hires New Bilingual, Bicultural Employee to Work with Latinx Families
Please join The Arc Lane County in welcoming Mariela German-Hernandez to our dynamite team.

German-Hernandez will lead Familias en Conexión, the local family network that provides peer support to Spanish-speaking parents who are raising children with disabilities.

Sensory-Friendly Vaccine Clinics Continue Through Summer
The Arc Lane County continues to host regular Sensory-Friendly Vaccine Clinics to help vaccinate people who may need extra accommodations.

The next clinics are scheduled for July 22 and August 12 Preregistration for the vaccine clinic is required. Register online.
Visit Sensory Zone at Eugene Riverfront Festival
People of all ages and abilities are invited to visit The Arc Lane County's Sensory Zone at the Eugene Riverfront Festival, taking place now through July 24 This free event, which coincides with the World Athletic Championships, features food, music, art, entertainment and culture from Oregon and around the world.

The Sensory Zone has supplies to help people who may be sensory seeking or sensory avoiding, including fidgets, headphones and other tools.

The Sensory Zone will also be at the upcoming Blackberry Jam Festival on July 30-31 in Lowell and the Scandinavian Festival on Aug. 11-14 in Junction City.
Enjoy Festival of Art for All Next Month inside Arc Park
KindTree–Autism Rocks will host its Festival of Art for All on Sat., Aug. 6 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. inside the new Arc Park, located at 4181 E St. in Springfield.

This free event, held in partnership with The Arc Lane County and Allies LCC, is a community celebration of local art created by individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

The Festival of Art for All will feature a variety of music, art, a talent show, live performances, food vendors and wine tasting. Cards, framed art, and other unique pieces of art will be available for purchase. 
New Suicide Prevention Hotline Launches
988 is the new number to remember in the event of a mental health crisis. The lifeline is available 24/7 for people in need of mental health support and/or substance use crisis support.

Many people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities have a co-occurring mental health diagnosis. 988 will be an option for families and caregivers to call in the event of a behavioral health crisis. To learn more, read New mental health crisis line goes live.
