High Temperatures Mean Practice Heat Safety

A Heat Advisory is in effect through Sunday evening with heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees possible.

Please take precautions in the heat, including drinking plenty of water, avoiding the sun when possible and taking breaks during outdoor activities. Please remember to watch young children and the elderly.

It is also very important to "look before you lock."

More than 30 children die each year from being left in a hot vehicle. Often, it is a parent or caretaker that unintentionally leaves a child behind.

Ambler Whitpain Youth Football & Cheer Association Works To Build Character

The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday heard a presentation from the Ambler Whitpain Youth Football & Cheer Association (AWYFA).

Founded in 1997, AWYFA has more than 200 boys and girls registered for football and cheer. The non-profit organization focuses on mentoring local youth ages 4-14 who desire to learn how to play football or learn about cheer. Building character in today’s youth is a major component of AWYFA. It accomplishes this by building respect, responsibility, fairness and good sportsmanship.
