Dear Parents,
We are so grateful for the opportunity to bring joy and singing to the parishioners this weekend at the Parish Fall Festival. There is nothing more uplifting and heartwarming than the kids making a joyful noise unto the Lord. It makes my heart and soul so happy to be part of this celebration watching the kids grow in faith. They bring such joy to so many! Thank you in advance, for being a part of this beauty and for bringing your children to Mass.
The students have had a great week as they are adjusting to getting up early, schedules, and new routines. They are rolling right along and getting back into the groove. We have just a few tears in the morning but that is becoming less and less as everyday passes. We have many new faces who have joined us this year to become part of our wonderful family. It is going to be a great year!
We have some wonderful fall family events coming up soon. Pet Blessing will be on October 4 at 2:30 PM. This is a time when you can bring your pets to the school playground and Fr. Mark will bless them as we celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and all living things. Please have all pets in cages or on leashes so everyone stays safe. We are also hosting Trunk or Treat as a way for our students to trick or treat in a safe and loving environment. It will be in the church parking lot for all school and daycare families. Parents decorate their cars and bring candy to pass out while the kids trick or treat. There is a costume contest and live music and a ton of family fun! Mark your calendars for October 27. More information will be coming soon.
These first weeks of school include a lot of assessments and learning about each child. We are figuring out what they know and how to best teach every student for successful academic growth and achievement. Getting to know each student and their individual strengths and weaknesses helps us truly help every student.
We have many new parents and are here to answer your questions. We will help whenever we can to make this a very successful school year for you and your family. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. Welcome to the 2023-24 school year and we are happy to have you on board!
St. Matthew School proudly presents the new Sr. Marcinette Children's Center. Thank you Drexel team for making our dreams become reality!
Many blessings as we experience the beauty of fall.
