Mary Alice Baumgardner Retrospective
& Second Book Signing
Throughout the month of May, 2022, Gallery 42 on W. Main Street, Waynesboro, PA, will exhibit art by Mary Alice Baumgardner.
Since it’s a “retrospective art show”, her earliest “work”, a “self-portrait” at age three will be shown. It’s unsigned because she did not know the alphabet at that time. It portrays the young artist: a “potato head”, with three ears and three legs. The second self-portrait was done at Easter, when she was eight years old and obviously had only two legs. Curls cover her “third ear”! Since she had learned cursive writing, this portrait is signed by the artist.
Born in Hagerstown, MD, Mary Alice began studying art at The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, at age 6, under Thomas Danaher. Much later in life, she was privileged to have studied with Lester Jay Stone, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA.
A graduate of Towson High school and Gettysburg College, she received her MA in Studio Arts from Marywood University, with concentration on illustration of children's books.
The variety of styles in this exhibit affirm how the artist loves to experiment with different media and explore new techniques. Mary Alice has written and illustrated five children's books, which will be available for purchase in Gallery 42. There will be a book-signing at the opening reception on May 6, 2022, from 5:30pm-8pm. Her writing has also been published in Guideposts books and “Chicken Soup for the Mother/Daughter Soul”.
Living in the country south of Waynesboro, Mary Alice says: “Stories come to me as I look at our amazing world. Nature speaks to us when we listen, and I love to share what she says to me.” Not only Nature, but People of all ages also inspire this artist to sketch and paint!
A second book signing is scheduled for Friday evening, May 13, 2022 at Gallery 42 on W. Main Street, Waynesboro, PA from 5:30pm-8pm.

The Maryland Theatre presents Trace Adkins
Tuesday, June 7, 2022
7:00 PM
| |
In his 25-year career in Country music, Trace Adkins has sold over 11 MILLION albums, charted over 20 singles, earned numerous awards and GRAMMY nominations, and garnered over TWO BILLION streams. A Grand Ole Opry member for nearly two decades, the Louisiana native is known for dynamic baritone and fiery, always-memorable live performances, and has expanded his Country career to include film and TV acting. He broke out in 1996 with the debut album, DREAMIN’ OUT LOUD, cracking the Top 5 of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with “Every Light In the House Is On” and following with the #1 smash, “This Ain’t (No Thinkin’ Thing).” Since then, Adkins has pioneered a mix of classic Country minded traditionalism and adventurous, good-natured showmanship, breaking open new avenues in modern Country through fun-filled hits like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Hillbilly Bone” (with Blake Shelton). He’ll celebrate the silver anniversary of his album debut in 2021 with THE WAY I WANNA GO, doing exactly what he always has – mixing pure-Country reverence with standout collaborations featuring Blake Shelton, Melissa Etheridge, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder on harmonica and more. Adkins’ newest single “Where The Country Girls At” (featuring Luke Bryan and Pitbull) is available everywhere now.

For more than 50 years, The Lettermen-- Donovan Tea, Bobby Poynton, and Rob Gulack, each of whom are entertainers in their own right—have kept the meaning of harmony alive with their soft, romantic, harmonic blend of music which is as popular with their fans today as it was in 1961 when they recorded their first hit, “The Way You Look Tonight”. Though musical tastes have changed over the years, The Lettermen legacy continues. Harmony will always endure the true test of time—just as The Lettermen have stood the test of time.
