If you're considering enrolling in a Core Class, but aren't quite sure what to expect, we encourage you to attend a 90-minute FREE Sampler. You'll meet facilitators and other writers, as well as experiencing what we call "writing in community."
This is a great opportunity for those who are new to our organization to participate in a writing circle prior to making a commitment to a class.
Registration is required.

"It's an amazing journey to be so involved with this wonderful community!"
After ten years of dedicated service, Mary Wood-Constable announces that she will step back from the Development Director role at Women Writing for (a) Change, at the end of June. As of July 1st, Mary will continue in a smaller capacity for a period of time, to assist with this transition and other needs of the organization.
Hired as a consultant in 2017, this part-time position marked a formal continuation of the volunteer role Mary filled for the previous five years, alongside her duties as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Creativity Reignited on April 23
|
The celebration of National Poetry Month culminated on April 23 for two special in-person events.
In the morning, The Taft Art Museum's Duncanson Artist-in-Residence for 2022, poet and educator Ajanaé Dawkins, led a confessional poetry workshop. Participants learned how their writing has the capacity to hold them accountable to be more radically honest. The readaround reflected brave and vulnerable writing in which the writers risked being the villain.
|
|
The evening featured local poets and performers Desirae "I am the Silent Poet" Hosley, Camille Jones, and Lauren White, who co-created a program that combined individual work and collaborative group readings. Aptly titled "Reignite the Fire: Lighting Up National Poetry Month," the largest in-person audience since February of 2020 witnessed a magical and powerful night of storytelling.
Both free programs were made possible in part by a grant from the Harris Family Fund.
A special thank you also goes out to Christine Wilson, who stocked the @womenwritingcincy Instagram account with daily images and writing prompts throughout the month of April.

Writing a Large Project?
No matter where you are in the writing, the time-intensive realities of tackling a full-length book require community. This series will provide that community along with some real talk about commitment, discipline, and finishing. These are circles of support rather than classes on specific craft elements.
Each participant will receive a one-hour private session with facilitator Karen Novak to discuss individual projects.
June 26, July 24 & August 21
1-4pm ET, (Virtual, via Zoom)
