Dear River Forest residents,
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony this past Monday. Thanks also to the River Forest Public Library for hosting, the speakers who gave their time, my fellow Trustees, local elected officials from and members of the clergy, vendors and our Public Safety employees. Everyone contributed and this event wouldn’t have been the same without everyone who was involved.
We are just a few days away from the GreenTown Conference at Triton College on Thursday, June 22 at 8:30 a.m. The Village is working with our fellow C4 communities to host this event to include speakers who work in professions that focus on sustainability and will share historic case studies. We will also discuss actionable steps to address climate change, economic development, and social equity in our communities. Read more about the conference in an article below.
Free summer concerts have returned to Dominican University every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Please consider attending this wonderful community event with family and friends!
Lastly, I’d like to wish all of our dads a very happy Father’s Day this Sunday! If you are looking for a way to celebrate, please consider Speaker Emanuel Welch’s Father’s Day and Juneteenth Festival on Monday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Park District in Hillside.
Sincerely,
