enFAMILIA, Inc.

enFAMILIA is a grassroots organization with deep connections in the community. Over the past 23 years, enFAMILIA has embedded itself within the farmworker community, solidifying its role as a dependable ally for families in need. It's goal is to provide social-educational programs to help improve and preserve family life for a large population of farmworkers and low-income families living in Deep South Miami-Dade.

Spirit Alegre, a mother of three who participated in enFAMILIA programs in her youth, credits her positive experiences with the organization with helping her learn skills and stay safe. As a result, she has consistently turned to enFAMILIA’s support network for her family. She also emphasizes a significant strategy enFAMILIA employs: hiring program participants as they transition out of programming. This approach provides stable employment opportunities for students after high school and also furnishes children and youth entering the program with positive role models to look up to.
