What an amazing field day!!! There were so many smiles on the kids' faces and at the end just the right amount of exhaustion.  Thank you again to Mr. Spencer for planning, coordinating, setting up, and facilitating this event!!! At a school that has over 30 classes and more than 740 students, not to mention two buildings and three parking lots that do not connect, this is a huge feat.  Thank you, also, to all of you who were able to join us for the day! 

While we are wrapping up the year, we are also feverishly preparing for next year.  I would like to make you aware of our open positions for next year. Here are still looking to hire the following positions:

• Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
• Education Asssistants for Special Education (EAIV)
• Education Assistants for General Education 

If you are interested in any of the positions, please apply through workday.  If you have questions about any of these opportunities please let me know.  And lastly, if you know anyone who might be interested please pass this information along.  Thank you for helping us be prepared for the 2022-23 School Year.  

I’d like to continue to encourage you to pay close attention to communications from the school as we cruise through the final week and a half.  It is always a busy time!  We hope to see many of you out next week  for our Band/Orchestra/Choir Concert on Monday and SAC/PTO Meeting on Wednesday.

2022 Lend A Hand School Supply Drive

REQUEST Application goes LIVE on Monday May 16, 2022 Foundationdcs.org

The Foundation for Douglas County Schools is excited to kick off the 2022 Lend A Hand School Supply Drive for our students of DCSD! Through the generous support and donations provided by our community partners, schools, local organizations, volunteers and businesses we were able to provide 1,245 age appropriate backpacks and school supplies to our students K-12th grade in 2021.

Let's do it again in 2022!

School Supply Drive - Donations are always welcome! The Foundation for DCS is partnering with the Douglas County Libraries and several local businesses and they will have collection boxes from June 1st through July 15th. Find a location near you on our FoundationDCS.org site. We will also have a collection box at the DCSD Wilcox building in the main lobby. Attached you will find a printable handout to share with a list of the most needed items.

Volunteers are welcome! It takes many hands to support this drive! Sign up as a volunteer HERE and join our efforts in supporting the kids and families of DCSD. 

Pine Lane's school supply lists for 2022/23 and Yubbler links will be available mid June on our website! 

An eblast will be sent out when they are ready!

Sora Sweet Reads and Douglas County Libraries (DCL) Summer Reading

Reading over the summer is not only fun but also crucial for strengthening students’ literacy skills & preventing the “Summer Slide.” While students cannot regularly visit their school library over summer break, they will still have access to Sora and can also take advantage of all the resources available from our wonderful Douglas County Public libraries. Students can help their school win books by checking out books in Sora during May and registering for summer reading programs at DCL!

It’s that time of the year! It’s the best time of the year! Why? It’s La Liga time! Please tell all those you know from 6-12 grade about this great event. Come play, eat, repeat!

The flyer says it all – free football for 6-12 graders! So, if you are going into the 6^th grade, come on and sign up! It’s fun – it’s free – there’s food – it’s the best!
