Longtime publisher Ogden Nutting dies at 87

Community, business leader touched the lives of many

G. Ogden Nutting, who for nearly three decades served as president and publisher of Wheeling, W.Va.-based Ogden Newspapers Inc., died Friday, August 25, at age 87.

Nutting spent a lifetime in service to the newspaper industry.

"Pops (Ogden) cared deeply about the newspaper business, but above all he treasured the relationships he built over 60 years of deep involvement in the industry. For every lesson he shared with me about the work, he had another, equally vibrant story about an SNPA tennis match or deals struck after hours. He was a legend, and like everyone who crossed his path, I feel lucky to have known him as I did."

Walter Moore Dear II, a dedicated newspaperman who loved music, books, travel, philanthropy, dogs and cats — and, most of all, people — died at the age of 91 of a stroke and dementia.

Veteran ad executive Ryan Kedzierski named general manager of The Tennessean

Veteran ad executive Ryan Kedzierski was tabbed general manager of The Tennessean (Nashville), effective Oct. 1.

In this role, Kedzierski will work closely with the executive editor to strengthen local connection points with businesses and brands to drive community-based strategies and engagement.
