Want to Transfer Clubs?
Specific Rules to Follow

Sometimes our members need to switch their club affiliation mid-year. Not surprisingly, USMS has a process for club transfers. Here are a couple of notes to help if you want to transfer clubs:

1.  IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT USE YOUR MEET ENTRY AS AN OFFICIAL CLUB TRANSFER.
If you want to transfer clubs for a meet, you must go through official channels to transfer before the meet. Selecting a new club on your meet entry form is not enough and causes major clerical problems if your meet entry club does not match your affiliated USMS club.
2. You may email either our Pacific Masters Administrator, Chris Ottati, or USMS membership to initiate the transfer request. Please include your full name, your swimmer ID (the last 5 characters of your membership number) and the club to which you want to transfer.
3. Please note that USMS currently requires a 60-day period after a member competes for a club before they may transfer to a new club. If a swimmer wants to compete in an event during that 60-day wait time, they may transfer to “unattached” and then complete the transfer when the 60 days are up. The exception to this rule is the annual membership renewal – a member may select a new club at that time without regard to the 60 days

California Swimming in the '70s and '80s

Photographer Larry Sultan had a very real fear of drowning but pushed himself and chronicled underwater scenes. His book Swimmers contains shots taken from 1978-1982, during the pre-digital age. Check out these artistic statements that will bring you back in time. Read the NY Times article or check out the book.
