Ding Ding TV Report—Ascend Technologies Ribbon Cutting

Ascend Technologies was born out of the initial merging of two incredibly talented and dedicated teams of managed services professionals to make a single, stronger team. The combination of West Monroe Managed Services and Gratia, Inc. occurred in 2019.

In 2020, highly respected master managed security services provider (MSSP) Infogressive™ merged with Ascend. Founded in 2006 with a record of zero breaches resulting in data loss, Infogressive™ plays an integral part to extend and grow Ascend’s respective strengths in cybersecurity.

To start off 2021, leading Midwest Salesforce consulting firm Doextra CRM Solutions joined Ascend, bringing valuable expertise in custom CRM implementations and a strong 14-year partnership with Salesforce. Following shortly after in May 2021, leading Managed Services Provider Switchfast Technologies was acquired, bringing 20 years of trusted IT expertise and a focus on serving America’s successful small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).

Two years after Ascend’s launch, family-owned Peter’s & Associates joined the team bringing their 40 years of IT expertise and unmatched knowledge of Microsoft services and products with them.

‘We’re Not White – Our Identities Have Been Erased’

More than 3.5 million people with roots from 23 countries in the Middle East and North Africa are currently misidentified as White in US Census data, and in almost all states and school districts.

AB 2673, introduced in the California state Legislature this week by Assemblymember Bill Essayli, will add the MENA classification to all state intake forms. Essayli, who is Lebanese-American, also authored House Resolution 30 in 2023, in an attempt to collect MENA data at the federal level.

Approximately 740,000 people from the Middle East and North African countries reside in California, which has the largest MENA population in the nation. “Current demographic data collection in California is entirely inadequate in capturing the unique experiences that MENA communities face, from health issues to socioeconomic outcomes,” said Essayli, as he introduced the bill Feb. 26.

Civic Leadership Forum Silicon Valley - Stop the Hate Series

Since the start of the pandemic, anti-Asian hate crimes have been on the rise. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders became targets of physical and verbal attacks, causing them to feel unsafe and unwelcome in public spaces. AAPI businesses have also been targeted. As of August 2021, more than 9,000 anti-Asian incidents had been reported since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Stop AAPI Hate.

Ding Ding TV and Silicon Valley Community Media together with other AAPI and ethnic organizations and community partners organized numerous events to call on our community members to come together, demand systemic change, build bridges through understanding, and appreciate our differences.

Thanks to California State Library (CSL) and California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs (CAPIAA).
