Listening and Learning Sessions for Danforth Campus Constituents by WestEd: The Danforth Task Force on Climate and Culture has contracted with an external assessment agency, WestEd, to speak with graduate and professional students, postdoctoral scholars and other members of the Danforth campus community to understand their current experiences and potential areas for improvement. The WestEd team will be visiting WashU on October 3–4, 2023, to conduct listening and learning sessions for the community to share and listen to others’ experiences as they relate to mentoring, advising and support for graduate and professional students and postdocs. more information

Present Your Research in 3 Minutes for a Chance to Win Prizes up to $1,000: The Graduate Center (TGC) in partnership with the Olin-Chancellor’s Fellowship (OCF) is hosting a special adaptation of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition open to all full-time graduate and professional degree students at WashU. Adapted for She Leads Symposium @ WashU, 3MT® presentations should be focused around the areas of gender and racial diversity, equity and inclusion. To participate, complete the application form and upload a three-minute video and a single PowerPoint slide. Deadline for submissions is October 8. Winners will be notified by October 13 and will have the chance to present at She Leads on Friday, October 20. Prizes include $1,000, $750 and $500 levels. more information

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest GRFP Solicitation (NSF 23-605) for the 2024 fellowship year. The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to help ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. A goal of the program is to broaden participation of the full spectrum of diverse talents in STEM. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support inclusive of an annual stipend of $37,000.
