First Branch News!

Hello First Branch,

We have had a wonderful week for Teacher Appreciation Week. Many thanks to our Friends of First Branch, who put together a wonderful week to honor our faculty and staff through breakfast items, lunch, thank you cards/gifts, and fresh school supplies. We know this was only possible with family support, and we are grateful!

With the excellent weather comes some opportunity for field trips. Our schools have worked hard to provide these at low cost or no cost to students for some grade levels. For a student to go, all paperwork must be completed, and we cannot take verbal permission on the day of the trip.

This week TCS received water testing results from the state. Please see below for the letter about the results, and there is no additional item at this time as we meet the guidelines for safety.

In the coming weeks, there are some changes to our lunch menu as we are down a critical food service staff member. We will continue operating breakfast and lunch daily, and for lunch, we will have more picnic options of sandwiches and sides. All meals will continue to meet nutrition guidelines. In addition, all food will continue to be prepped on-site, and we are working with the SU to help with orders.

In closing, we want to close out our Teacher Appreciation week with a gift in kind to our community. We ask students to show appreciation for their teachers and staff at First Branch by donating one or more items to our local food shelf. The First Branch Principals are running this project and have a foundation of items ready to go in our faculty's honor! We will collect at Chelsea and Tunbridge May 15th-19th and drop off items next Friday afternoon. Currently, canned items are the focus to hold over the spring into the summer season and changing temperatures. If every student donated one can, the food shelves would increase their stock by 239 cans! Items include spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, soups, apple sauce, beans, peanut butter, tuna, shelf stable milk, foil, sandwich bags, soup, laundry detergent, dish soap, canned fruit, canned veggies etc.

We wish all First Branch Moms, Grandmas, and strong female role models a beautiful Mother's Day on Sunday!
