During December’s CAPCOA Board meeting, the 2024 GHG Handbook Update and the new quantified measures were presented and approved. The additions were facilitated by a planning grant awarded to the Sac Metro Air District under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Inflation Reduction Act. The measures are already incorporated in the Capital Region Climate Priorities Plan for the seven-county Sacramento region, and can now be implemented statewide with their addition into the Handbook.
Beyond the new measures, updates include regulatory and policy changes that have happened since the 2021 update. A comprehensive list of updates to the Handbook can be found in Appendix F.
In January 2025, CalEEMod.com will be updated to reflect this update, including the searchable measures database and handbook website. Until then, the updated Handbook can be accessed via the Sac Metro Air District's Climate Change website located here.
