Pacific Masters Long Course Meters Championships Recap
The Pacific Masters Long Course Champs took place the last weekend in July with three full days of whistles, starter beeps, cheers, splashes, and sunshine, mixed with anticipation, exertion, excitement, and an abundance of accomplishment.
Some of the highlights were witnessing four individual National records set and five National and Pacific record-breaking relay teams, and watching 2012 Venezuelan Olympian Marcos Lavado swim an impressive 200-Meter Butterfly.
Thanks to the Pacific Masters officials who ran the whole meet smoothly and fairly. Results

Swim Across America - San Francisco
Saturday, September 24
Swim Across America is "Making Waves to Fight Cancer."
In our lifetime, one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer. Pacific Masters is joining the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
Form a team, swim individually, or volunteer for the 1.5-mile, current assisted, swim starting at Little Marina Green and finishing at Aquatic Park. Sign up for the swim at swimacrossamerica.org/sanfrancisco.
Please support our fellow Pacific Masters swimmers in the Fight Against Cancer by making a donation. Find participating members and their funding page on Swim Across America.

Pacific Masters Swimming Event 2023 Schedule Development
An invitation to host a pool or open water event in 2023
Pacific Masters Swimming would like to extend the opportunity for your organization to consider hosting and request dates for pool meet and open water events in the 2023 calendar year. The sooner events can be set and published on the schedule the more time swimmers have to plan for attending your event.
Host bids for the Pacific Masters LCM and SCM championship meets are still being finalized and have the highest priority. When requesting dates, please avoid the following time periods:
- April 14 - 16, 2023: SCY Champs, Morgan Hill CA
- April 27 - 30 2023: USMS Spring Nationals, Irvine CA
- July 7 - 23, 2023: "reserved" for LCM Champs
- August 2 - 6 2023: USMS Summer Nationals, Sarasota FL
- The second weekend in October 2023: SCM Champs have traditionally been held on this weekend
If your club is interested in scheduling a single or multi-day event, please use the appropriate link to submit the brief information we need to follow up and begin organizing the event(s): Pool, Open Water.

Help Pacific Masters Grow
Win a Pacific Masters Towel!
Pacific Masters logo microfiber towels are starting to be sent out to the first winners of our drawing. Your name can be on that list, and you can receive one of these prestigious towels to show off at our up-coming events.
If you bring a friend to join your club and Pacific Masters, you may enter the monthly drawing for one of these Sports 20 in. X 36 in. microfiber towels, complete with the Pacific Masters logo. It tells other swimmers that you helped grow Masters Swimming.
Just get a new member, or bring back a swimmer who has not been a PacMasters swimmer in the past four years (2018-2021), and have them join Pacific Masters. Then enter their name, your name, and the club name at New Member Towel Drawing.
There will be a drawing for towels on the last day of the month, from April through October. If you bring in a new swimmer from March 1st, 2022 to the end of October, 2022, you are eligible for the drawing.
Good luck and thank you for spreading the word about the benefits of swimming while helping to grow Pacific Masters!
