GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

AFI community grants provide funding to organizations involved in youth programs with an emphasis on STEM education opportunities for youth 18 and under. Grants provided to community-based nonprofits for innovative programs that promote STEM and youth programs. The program should encourage STEM objectives. Award amounts range from $1,000 – 5,000 and can be used for a variety of programs, events, equipment, supplies, and more! As Round 10 of Career Connect Washington Program Builder grants comes to a close, Economic Alliance Snohomish County and Snohomish STEM would like to share that CCW Program Builder Grants Round 11 is expected to open in March 2023. To receive email notifications when a CCW funding opens, sign up here. The CCW NW Region is planning an info session in early 2023, stay tuned for more details. 
EARLY LEARNING UPDATES

Originally established in 2017, Math Anywhere is a community-based project which aims to build positive math experiences outside of school and help teach that math is all around us and that math can be playful! A regional collaboration with Educational Service District 112, NW Washington STEM Network, the Snohomish STEM Network, Child Strive, Opportunity Council and Child Care Aware of Northwest Washington supported development of FREE asynchronous training courses. Each course is eligible for 3 Clock or STARS Hours. 

Earn STARS credits while learning about library resources! Register today for one of two online STARS training sessions this winter, “STARS Training Series: Make the Best of Screen Time for Preschoolers”. Screen time is here to stay! Ensure that children are viewing quality content while on a digital device. Learn how to find content from the library and discuss best practices for sharing these resources with preschoolers and families. Online event on Thursday, December 15 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM, register here. 
HEALTHCARE CAREER CONNECTED LEARNING

Engage with students at Sound Careers in Healthcare 2023! The career event aspires to provide awareness and resources around in-demand healthcare careers to Pierce, King, and Snohomish high school students furthest from opportunity (i.e. BIPOC, low income, first generation, English language learners). For reference, here is the event manual that outlines the program flow. 
 
HILT Network is offering healthcare professionals an opportunity to engage with high school students at the next Sound Careers in Healthcare event! This will be at the University of Washington’s Husky Union Building on 3/21/2023 from 9:00-1:00. We are requesting a 2–4-hour time commitment. If you are interested in being a part of this memorable event, please take the 1-minute interest form. Please complete the interest form by 12/19/2022 (Mon). CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Economic Alliance Snohomish County and the Snohomish STEM Network are now accepting applications for a Career Connected Learning Manager.

The Career Connected Learning Manager focuses on program management as well as outreach and engagement efforts to support career connected learning (CCL) opportunities including career awareness, career exploration, and financial aid completion for K-12 and post-secondary students throughout Snohomish County. This position works with the STEM Network Director to bridge business and education by engaging a variety of stakeholders to promote opportunities, recruit participants and volunteers, as well as building partnerships with education and community members to engage on strategic CCL efforts to achieve system-level impacts. This position and work plan are under the direction of the Snohomish STEM Network Director and regularly engages with the Vice President of Economic Development.
