Construction Update
Exit 16 DDI
DATE: Friday, August 18, 2023
SPECIAL NOTICE:
A portion of Mountain View Drive at its intersection with U.S. Route 2/7 (U.S. 2/7) is currently under lane reductions to facilitate the connection of independent utilities from the existing to the new underground infrastructure. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. These lane reductions will be in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This work is anticipated to continue throughout next week.
Work continues connecting the existing utilities to the new underground infrastructure.
TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION:
Sunday, August 20, through Thursday, August 24, during nighttime hours, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will have lane closures to facilitate duct bank and stormwater infrastructure installation. At least one travel lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime hours. Side street access will be maintained throughout this work. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change.

Monday, August 21, through Friday, August 25, during the daytime hours, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., work will continue along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project area under lane closures. Only a single travel lane will be closed in each direction during the daytime hours. Intermittent lane closures along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive will be in effect throughout the daytime hours to facilitate the paving of sections of roadway disturbed during overnight work. The outermost southbound lane along U.S. 2/7 between the Interstate 89 (I-89) ramps will be closed to facilitate the installation of the retaining wall along the west side of U.S. 2/7.

All users should expect delays and plan ahead.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Next week, during nighttime hours, crews will continue to install duct bank and stormwater infrastructure along U.S. 2/7 between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive. The duct bank work will take place along U.S. 2/7 between Interstate 89 (I-89) southbound onramp and South Park Drive working south. The stormwater infrastructure work will take place along U.S. 2/7 near Champlain Farms or the Shell Gas Station. This work will require lane closures along U.S. 2/7.

Next week, during daytime hours, crews will continue to pave sections of disturbed roadway along U.S. 2/7 and construct the western retaining wall that will run along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside of the I-89 bridge piers under lane closures
Crews continue installing duct bank along U.S. 2/7.
