ODP Players and Parents,

Great to see so many ODP players this past weekend. Below is the upcoming schedule with additional reminders. Make sure to check-in with ODP Staff member when you arrive. If you cannot attend an ODP Session please complete the ODP Absence Form.

Our first Off The Pitch Development webinar will be December 12. We will be having Dr. L. Kevin Chapman as our presenter, he is an expert in Sports Psychology. His topic will be Handling Performance Anxiety. A link for the webinar will be sent out on the day of the webinar to everyone. Please do your best to be on this webinar. Parents and players are both welcome.

Topic: Handling Performance Anxiety

All players should come dressed ready to train and bring the following:

• Water bottle
• Cleats or Indoor shoes (both permitted at each facility)
• Soccer ball
• Shin Guards
• ODP Uniform - wear you NAVY if you're a field player or YELLOW if you're a goalkeeper

NO UNIFORM? NO PROBLEM? If your uniform does not arrive in time for the first training, please wear the following:

• Field Players - Navy Shirt/Jersey & bring White Shirt/Jersey
• Goalkeepers - Yellow Shirt/Jersey or any other color that is not Navy or Light Blue
• Shorts & socks any color

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR UNIFORM, DO NOT WEAR A SHIRT WITH A NUMBER ON IT. A TEMPORARY NUMBER WILL BE ASSIGNED AT CHECK-IN

Q: Who is U.S. Youth Soccer and what is the Midwest Region?

A: U.S. Youth Soccer is the national organization for youth soccer and oversees ODP at a Regional and National level. The country is split into four regions, East, West, Midwest, and South. Each region consist of a group of states and their own Olympic Development Program. Illinois falls into the Midwest Region. 



Players from each state are invited to the Midwest Regional Camp in July based on their performances in their states ODP. After the camp, players from each age group can be selected to the Midwest Regional Pool. Those players can be selected to participate in National events throughout the country to compete against the three other regions.
