Paving for Progress Construction Update: Center Point Road NE

Construction Update | 7-15-2022

Utility work is progressing along Center Point Road between F Avenue and the railroad tracks. The storm sewer is complete and the water main work will continue into next week. Expect to see paving within the month.

Traffic Impacts:

Beginning at 10:00 PM this Sunday, July 17, Center Point Road NE will be closed at G Avenue for water main installation. The road is expected to reopen by 6:00 AM on Monday, July 18. Residents and businesses between H Avenue and G Avenue can use Center Point Road during this time for access. The road will be completely closed between G Avenue and Coe Road with no access.
Center Point Road continues to be reduced to one lane, southbound, with the work occurring in the left lane
F Avenue is closed at Center Point Road on the east side

A reminder that, other than the roadway closure overnight on Sunday night, access to all businesses is maintained and all businesses are open.

About the Project

The project on Center Point Road NE stretches from Coe Road to Lincoln Avenue. Improvements include pavement reconstruction, sidewalk replacement, ADA sidewalk ramps, on-street bike lanes, utilities (water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer), and conversion of the roadway from one-way to two-way traffic. It is scheduled for completion this fall. This is Phase 1 of a two-phase project. Phase 2 includes Lincoln Avenue to J Avenue and will bid in fall 2022 for construction in spring 2023.
