Dear Prayer Partners,

We just completed our first day of camp ... wow, what a day! We were moved by the bus arrival, the weather (thank you Lord for clouds and a cool breeze when we needed it) and of course, these wonderful kids.

Pray for some of these kids as they transition to a new environment. Pray for their bodies to rest well tonight and to be ready for a full day of camp on Tuesday. Pray for our counselors and staff to have the endurance to get through the long day of camp that tomorrow presents.

Here are a couple of stories told to me at camp this week from our scribe:

Monday morning always provides a mix of feelings for campers and counselors. Counselors are preparing last minute details such as finishing decorating rooms and writing the camper's name on the signs. The excitement begins to build at camp as the announcement comes, "The buses are 20 minutes from camp!" As counselors and staff begin to ascend to the place where the bus arrives, clouds begin to loom and there was wonder, is it going to be raining when the kids arrive? In the past, counselors have met their campers in the bright Texas sun and also in the very cool stormy rain. On a sunny day, the dry heat on a summer day in a clearing where there are no shade trees, it can be weary. Today was different. God provided shade from the clouds for the whole duration of waiting for the buses to arrive and the kids meeting their counselors in the open field. The empty buses drive away to go back to their home and the sun comes beaming through. Thank you, Lord, for the clouds!

The first dinner the RFK grandpa in the dining hall sat next to Devon. Devon said, Hey Papa, are you a grandpa?" "Yes, I am. I have lots of grandkids." 'You do?" "Yes, would you like to be one of my grandkids?' Devon stopped and leaned forward and said, 'Really?" Grandpa answered "Yes". Devon got up and walked around the table and gave grandpa a big neck hug from his side and planted a great big kiss on his cheek.'

Proverbs 8:17 "I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me."

Blessings,

Darren
