MENTOR PROTÉGÉ (MP) PROGRAM
Our 2022-2023 MP Program kickoff session, Exploring the World of STEM, covered: Closing the gender gap, Women in STEM majors, STEM paths, Key factors to consider when choosing a college, STEM scholarships, and more.

Watch the curated video HERE.
Tip! The STEM field is continuously growing. There are many STEM career options to explore that are open for women of various interests and education levels.

During session 2, Navigating Challenges to Success, we had the pleasure of hearing the tried-and-true learnings of two very talented STEM career women!
Juan Kehoe, PhD
Senior Data Scientist
Deloitte
Rashel Graves
Director of Sales Operations
AT&T
A skilled data scientist, Juan shared her video, Put on your own mask, using the Python programming language.

Rashel’s Moto: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind!”
We were also delighted to be joined by one of our #GITAlumna, Hannah, who shared her experiences related to transitioning from high school to West Virginia University (WVU) Aerospace Engineering.

Safe to say that she has successfully navigated the transition! Go Hannah!
The remaining MP Program sessions (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM) are captured below:

GIT.CONNECT PROGRAM
Our 2022-2023 GIT.Connect kickoff session, VEX Robotics: Designing, coding, and teamwork, was a collaborative effort with the brilliant Capital City Robotics (CCR) Team.

Members of the CCR Team shared their experiences of being on a VEX robotics team: how to join a team, mentoring teammates, project management, designing and coding a robot, competition day, and a robot demonstration!

We also saw demonstrations from our very own #GITgirl robotic engineers, Avery and Aamani! We are so very proud!
