On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Texas were told they were free. A century and a half later, people across the U.S. continue to celebrate the day, which is now a federal holiday. Please note that the Leadership Center and Scout Shop will be closed on Saturday, June 17th and Monday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. We look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday the 20th. |
