Comparing EU and US Employment Law: Records Retention

It is customary for employers to roll out changes to business and organizational structures at the start of a new year. Sometimes those changes require onboarding new employees or off-boarding current employees. Whether an employee is new or recently departed from the team, there are mandatory employment records that must be retained for specific periods of time. The specific records and retention periods are set by EU and US labor laws. Companies with employees located in both the US and the EU must follow the employment laws of the country in which the affected employees are located.
