CHAMBER UPDATES | DECEMBER 29 , 2022
|
|
Chamber Members-
Last year I sent out a letter with our holiday cards. This year, I tried to say thank you personally and hope that the cards weren't too delayed by the post office or the weather.
Last year's letter did not really summarize the year, but it did highlight some of the progress we made as a chamber. As I looked back on 2022 while talking to some people at our recent holiday party, it is amazing how much has happened. Here are a just a few items that are top of mind.
•January - Networking with a Twist was born. This year we'll look forward to promoting a new event called Beers & Biz on the Fourth Thursday of the month in addition to our Third Thursday events.
•February - Our awards dinner was a huge success, celebrating the best and brightest across the area; the event was held at Pebble Creek with 200 in attendance! We will have an even larger gathering this year at the Donauschwaben Society (300 maximum) and I'm excited to announce this year's nominees shortly. Please watch for that announcement in the next week or two over our social media channels.
•March - We partnered with area businesses and NWLSD to provide prize drawings for teachers through the remainder of the school year!
•April - Our Third Thursday networking event at Miami Valley Gaming allowed individuals to get to ride in the pace car with the horses on the track. A fun time was had by all.
•May - The New Member Reception at Clovernook was well attended. Through 2022, we've added 60 new members...Welcome aboard to all of them!
•June - A successful Hometown Hero event at Willow Creek brought together business leaders and non-profit members celebrating individuals like Judge Ted Winkler and veterans from our community that served overseas.
•July - Who could forget the inaugural Vintage Baseball Game played at Colerain Park? We hope to bring the event back even bigger and better in 2023.
•August - The Back to School Health & Safety Fair at Northgate Mall was full of energy. Supported by about 18 chamber members, non-profits, and school staff, families left the event with both information and practical items to start the year off right.
•September - We celebrated Officer Henry Boyd as Police Officer of the Year and Officer Jim Bowman as Firefighter of the Year at the annual Fire/Police Appreciation Breakfast. September also brought to a close the 3rd season of the Chamber Golf League at Pebble Creek.
•October - Our Leadership Breakfast was held at the new Enclave Event Center, Third Thursday networking event at the White Oak Athletic Club (Haubner Field) and who could forget 300 volunteers helping bring TeamUpToGreenUp to life through the Colerain Community Giveback Day? This is among the highlights of my year because so many organizations, chamber members, individuals from the community come together with the Township to help make Colerain a better place to live, work and play.
•November - Ribbon Cuttings at DR Horton, Thrivent (Susan Bennett) and King's Treasure (Junk King) led into grand openings of Art on Fire's new location and Tractor Supply Company in December. About a dozen ribbon cutting ceremonies took place throughout the year and I'm sure 2023 will have a flurry of activity.
•December - A special thanks to Kathie Smith and her holiday elves for putting on an amazing event this year! There are plenty of pictures (below) from that and other events that took place.
I could detail all the events and gatherings, educational opportunities & speakers, social media posts & announcements, but there is not enough room to do so. You can always find the monthly newsletters posted HERE and watch for updates on our Colerain Chamber Facebook Page where we will be announcing the finalist for this year's chamber awards. We will have two new inductees into the Colerain Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame (Joining Kreso Mikulic, Ron Long, Tom Abercrombie, Bob Stenger & Bob Clippard) so watch for that announcement shortly.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We are approaching 250 active members who not only provide financial support for our efforts but give of their time and talent to help make it all happen. A special thanks to our new office administrator, Beth Jones who has put into place additional processes & procedures that make it easier for all of us every day. And to our board of directors (incoming, outgoing, and current) a HUGE end-of-the-year THANK YOU for all the time and energy you provide! My hope is that businesses that have been watching what's going on across the Colerain Chamber, will look closer at the value we provide and that those who are already involved at one level or another, will find even more ways to engage across the community.
Happy New Year. Be safe, stay warm, Go Bengals, Go Buckeyes!

NEW SUSTAINING PARTNERS ANNOUNCEMENT

As part of the chamber evolution, we continue to grow our sustaining sponsorship relationships across the community.
We are excited to announce these three Sustaining Partners: Butler Tech will become a new Leader Level sponsor. The partnership extends the impact we are able to have with recognition of their work across Northwest Schools and Butler Tech.
Two additional Network Level sponsors have stepped up, Dinsmore & Shohl and White Oak Garden Center.
Dinsmore continues to build its reputation as a law firm that gives back to the west-side community.
Thanks to Rick Porotsky and his teammates at Dinsmore.
If you are driving past White Oak Gardens (we know that you do), be sure to stop in and say thank you to Renee, Evan, Andrew, Jeff or Patti for the beauty of the Cheviot-Banning corner and for their support of the Colerain Chamber.
