NISD students earn top academic honors

Just days after announcing five National Merit Semifinalists, Northwest ISD is proud to announce that 21 students from across the district have been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Selection is based on the students' scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

All of these students are part of an elite group representing fewer than one percent of U.S. high school seniors who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Additionally, NISD is proud to announce that 130 students have been honored by the College Board National Recognition Programs.

The College Board National Recognition Programs award academic honors to underrepresented students. The four national recognition programs include the National African American Recognition Program, National Hispanic Recognition Program, National Indigenous Recognition Program, and National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program
