Monkeypox Vaccine Registration

Dear Karen,

I am pleased to announce a 4th POD this weekend, Friday, August 12th in the Grove and Saturday, August 13th in the Pines. A total of 700 first shot appointments will be available, 300 in the Grove and 400 in the Pines. Once again, I am grateful to the government officials at New York State and Suffolk County with whom I have been in frequent contact for securing scarce allocations specifically for our community. And I am also grateful to Northwell Health for creating pop-up vaccination sights at Whyte Hall in order to oversee administration of the vaccine.

Here is the link to make an appointment in either the Grove or the Pines:

Register Here

After completing your appointment registration, you will receive email confirmation from Northwell at the address you provide.  After you receive your first shot at your designated appointment, you be instructed to make an appointment for your 2nd dose four weeks later, the process for which will be completed before you depart the vaccination site. Friday’s appointments in Cherry Grove will be at The Doctors Office, and Saturday’s appointments in the Pines will be at Whyte Hall.

The appointments for the first two PODS were taken up approximately 30 minutes after they became available. For the more recent third POD, appointments were open for approximately 2 ½ hours, though I surmise that the midweek (Tuesday) appointment date resulted in less demand than the weekend dates when more people are in the community.  For as long as there is strong demand for the vaccine, FIPPOA will continue to do all that we possibly can to make additional opportunities available in the Pines.
