CancerCare's Stories of Help and Hope

Throughout the year, CancerCare presents the stories of people who have cancer, their caregivers and more.

Our latest stories come from George, Daphne and Quanisha, who discuss their experiences with clinical trials, often an important part of developing improved cancer treatments.

They now share their story with many others in our Stories of Help and Hope.

CancerCare Celebrates Its 80th Anniversary

This year, CancerCare celebrates 80 years of supporting those with cancer, their caregivers, loved ones and many more. This coming May 4th will mark the start of our commemoration, which will feature stories of resilience and hope as we look back at the lives we touched throughout many changes in cancer care and look ahead to continuing to provide support to those impacted by cancer in the times ahead.

CancerCare's Annual Impact

Year after year, CancerCare offers help and hope to anyone impacted by cancer. Ranging from counseling to support groups to workshops and more, none of our resources would be made possible without our donors, volunteers, friends and advocates. Our Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023 is available now, detailing everything we've accomplished over the last fiscal year.

This Month, CancerCare's Annual Spring Gala Celebrates 80 Years of Help & Hope

On Wednesday, April 17, CancerCare will host its annual fundraising Spring Gala in celebration of its 80th Anniversary. In this special year, the Help & Hope Award will be presented to CancerCare’s Social Workers who are dedicated to improving the lives of those with a cancer diagnosis.

The evening will include a live and silent auction, which will offer special wine and food experiences, tickets to opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival and tickets to the closing ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the financial and psychosocial services that CancerCare provides. The need for these services increased greatly in the last year. Your support is more valuable than ever. Visit us to support the gala and for more information.

New Jersey School Donates to CancerCare

Sixth graders from Lawrence Intermediate School in New Jersey recently held a charity speech competition where students talked about the nonprofit they were passionate about. The winning group of the competition received $1,000 to donate to their charity of choice and CancerCare was selected.

Mr. Gerstner, the teacher who oversaw the competition, said, “We take great pride in teaching our students about giving back to others and caring for others. We couldn’t be more happy knowing that our donation will support the fight against cancer and help many people.”

We are so grateful for Mr. Gerstner’s efforts and so proud of his students. Thank you to Lawrence Intermediate School.
