Prayer Partner Alliance Newsletter
February 2022
From Loretta's Desk
This month thoughts draw towards all things heart-shaped. However, the commercialization of Valentine’s Day should not distract us from acknowledging the greatest source of love: “For GOD so loved the world...” John 3:16. The past year has been an amazing one. With God’s love together with all those who have chosen to invest in our ministry, we were able to put smiles on the faces of over one hundred of God’s special people.

Love also changes the lives of our clients as they continue to grow in their abilities and skills. We have incredible artists among us that continue to inspire us with their creations. Others have great athletic, cooking, and musical talents that bring joy to all. Many clients have a deep spiritual life, and they are our powerful prayer warriors. The pride that shows through their smiles is infectious as it spreads throughout our community.

The Estero Church has come alongside us investing in our ministry. The church offers help in many ways; from providing volunteers, to creating arts programs and much more. Because of this, our artists were able to create and decorate trivets, picture frames, flowerpots, and stepping stones.

First Baptist Church Naples recently provided a hard-working team of volunteers who completed some much-needed outdoor projects around the homes. With their financial support, we were also able to replace some of the old unreliable appliances with new ones in one home.

Last, but not least, Covenant Church made it possible for one of our clients to receive sorely needed medical assistance. Because of their generosity, this client is now on the road to full recovery physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

In addition to all these blessings, your donations have made it possible for us to continue meeting our ambitious goals for 2022. We have hired Robin Antone as Senior Director of Community Support. She will help us transition more directly into the Supported Living model as well as into Respite Services. We have also welcomed our second full-time AmeriCorps volunteer who will be assisting in program development and communication. This team expansion will allow us to continue reaching out to many more people in both Lee and Collier counties who need our services. God is good!

The prayers, volunteers, and financial support of our mission are changing lives as we serve people for the Lord. We are so blessed to have the LOVE of all of you as God leads us forward.
Staff Spotlight: Robin Antone
We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team at Protected Harbor. Robin Antone joined us in January in the new role of Senior Director of Community Supports.

Robin has twenty years of experience working with persons with disabilities. Most recently she worked twelve years for Goodwill. Before that, she worked with foster families and was a foster parent herself for ten years. Robin hails from Ohio but has lived in Southwest Florida for thirty-seven years. She is a trained professional and used her experience in data analysis and quality assurance, to work for the State of Florida. She and her husband Mike have been married 35 years and have 4 adopted children, 3 boys and one girl ages twenty-five, twenty-one, twenty, and seventeen.
Behind the Smiles: Meet Kim
Kim is a loving and lovely lady who has resided at Protected Harbor for the past ten years. Her family has lived in Florida for over forty years; she is very happy that they all reside in the same state.

Kim has made friends in many places over the years who give her a reason for waking up each morning to spend fun time with them. She is thankful for the staff because they offer training in ways she can understand and patiently explain how to resolve personal situations that invariably come up. Kim volunteers at her church five days a week, serving lunches to the students at the school. She also adds her beautiful voice in the church choir on Sundays.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from our donors.  In response to the many calls we receive asking how you can help, we are continuing our Online Wish List.  Click the Contribution link on the left for a current list of items needed and desired for the homes.  Items are shipped directly to the homes making it even easier for those wishing to lend an extra hand of support.
