Neighborhood Spotlight: Foggy Tea Shop

This month, we'd like to spotlight Foggy Tea Shop - the perfect neighborhood spot to study, read, or relax with a cup of tea.

Foggy Tea Shop is a tea shop offering a wide variety of teas, pastries, and other treats. Recently opened this past summer, Michelle and her husband started Foggy Tea Shop out of their passion for tea.

"Tea is so inspiring," Michelle says.

"I was introduced to it by my husband. He has been a lifelong tea lover. I myself was a Starbucks coffee girl growing up. However, I tried a London Fog and that was the beginning. Within a few years, I lost all interest in coffee as the ancient and enormous universe of tea unfolded (and continues to unfold) before me."

Michelle says the endless variety of leaves, herbs, roots, flowers and so on that humans have steeped and drank for thousands of years, all around the globe leaves her in awe.

This fall, Foggy Tea Shop is offering special fall treats and flavors, including Pumpkin Spice, Foggy Tea Autumn Spice blend, and an Apple Spice Tea. They are also hosting live music and art at their shop on First Thursday Art Walk on October 5th from 4p - 6p. Be sure to stop by and enjoy a cup of tea!

Neighborhood Construction Updates

The East West Connection project is anticipated to begin in early 2024 and will continue for approximately a year.

Construction will begin on S Washington Street and S Main Street, between 1st Ave S and Alaskan Way S. The project aims to improve accessibility for people of all ages and abilities and provide safe, convenient, and graceful pedestrian connections. It will also reduce the number of vehicle travel lanes and limit traffic flow directions on portions of these streets in order to move vehicles away from structurally vulnerable areaways and optimize traffic operations and circulation.
