Childhood TB

Center for Tuberculosis

Devan Jaganath, MD, MPH will launch the Center's Maternal & Childhood TB Initiative in the Fall 2023, which was announced at the Center Business Meeting in May.

The overall goal of this initiative is to promote UCSF Center for Tuberculosis and UC TRAC expertise as a key institution advancing childhood TB research, education, and clinical care.

TB RAMP's inaugural cohort (2021) graduated June 8, 2023. Thank you to our graduates, current Scholars, TB RAMP Executive Committee, Program Co-Directors, and TB RAMP Coordinators for a successful first two years of TB Research and Mentorship Program!

Dr. Sara Suliman

Congrats to Dr. Suliman and team for receiving an NIH/NIAID R01 grant of $2.5M over 5 years for a project entitled, “The role of tyrosine metabolism in tuberculosis pathogenesis.”

Dr. Mike Reid

Dr. Reid received the Thomas Hall-Nelson Sewankambo Mid-Career Leadership Award for excellence in global health education, research, advocacy, service and leadership. Read more here about Dr. Reid's contribution.

Dr. Suzanne Dufault

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Dufault!

Suzanne Dufault received her doctorate in biostatistics from UC Berkeley. She was most recently a postdoctoral scholar in UCSF’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine with Patrick Phillips, PhD and is a current TB RAMP Scholar. Her primary research addresses the barriers to generating high-quality evidence in complicated trial settings by improving experimental trial design and introducing novel statistical techniques that directly target motivating research questions, primarily in TB and infectious diseases. She joined the Division of Experimental Medicine this month!
