Summer is here and it's gonna be a busy one in and around Burke. We're excited to welcome back our Canadian neighbors and other travelers this season.

A great way to enjoy the area and feel like you have it almost all to yourself is by planning a mid-week visit. Spread out on the beach along Willoughby, cruise the trails with other riders few and far apart, save money with mid-week lodging rates and dine out without any waiting. No matter the day of the week, local businesses look forward to welcoming you back!

Things to do

Summer is officially here! Kingdom Trails is open and the Burke Bike Park opens June 4th. No Wheels, no problem. You can rent bikes at the Bike Park, East Burke Sports and Village Sport Shop.

Over at The Orange Rind, the gazebo bar is open and there's live Music on Saturday, Sunday & Wednesday nights.

Don't miss the Strawberry Festival on June 24th in West Burke featuring live music from Tritium Well, 2 food trucks and, of course, strawberry shortcake.

Deal of the Month

Barton Golf Club.is open for the summer golf season and offers a pristine course, mountain views and affordable rates.

Located just about a half hour drive from Burke, the family owned club offers 18 holes and, according to Golf Digest, it's "the Best Deal in Golf." The Par 72 course offers amazing Northeast Kingdom views in every direction.

The club also operates a year round, indoor golf option where, via a high definition screen, you can play world famous courses including Pebble Beach, Kiawah Island, Skeleton Coast, Spyglass Hill, Loch Lomond, Superstition Mountain, Big Horn Canyons and many more!

Unpack & Unwind

From riverside camping to waterfront vacation rentals, you'll find a variety of lodging choices in and around Burke.

Summer means lots of trips to the lake so why not just stay there? Willoughby Lake Rental offers a peaceful location on the west side of the lake. The one bedroom guesthouse has a full kitchen, WiFi and an amazing view from the deck.

Enjoy the sound of the river at Moose River Campground in St. Johnsbury. 49 RV sites with full hook-ups are available and there are lots of events on-site for campers including Paint & Sips, Barbecues, Pig Roasts and more.

For a more primitive camping experience, Camp Kiki offers two campsites with Kingdom Trails access. Sites include a cedar tenting platform, picnic table, fire pit, bike rack, private port-a-pottie and more.

Located right in East Burke, The Village Inn offers mid-week rates starting at just $130 per night. The Inn offers 8 guestrooms that sleep from 2-7 people as well as a 3 bedroom farmhouse, all uniquely designed and loaded with character.

Out & About

Of course, we have great biking and hiking trails here, but there are plenty of ways to get a little off the beaten path.

Fuel up for the day VT style at Miss Lyndonville Diner featuring excellent breakfast choices including pancakes, French toast, omelets and more.

For some little kid friendly backyard golf, check out Grandad's Invitational in Newark or Lake Willoughby Golf in Westmore.

For an adventure via horseback, DND Stables offers guided trail rides as well as riding instruction.

Explore the woods via a guided ATV tour with NEK Adventures. You can even stop along the way for a lakeside picnic!

For some fun on the water, check out Clyde River Recreation for paddling trips or canoe/kayak/SUP rentals.

End the day with a trip to the taproom at Next Trick Brewing. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables and enjoy some Langsam Lager or Tripel Ringer Ale along with a big, soft pretzel or pick up a crowler or growler to take home - or do both!
