What is the Hansen CAPT?
The Hansen CAPT (Canton Association for Parents and Teachers) is a non-profit organization run by volunteer parents, guardians, and teachers of the Hansen Elementary School. The purpose of the Hansen CAPT is to promote the well-being and the enrichment of the children of the Hansen Community and to encourage close relationships between home and the Lt. Pete M. Hansen Elementary School. Our fundraising efforts provide financial support for in-school and virtual enrichment programs, for all grades, that will enhance the students' educational experiences.
Why should I be a member?
All Hansen families are invited to attend monthly CAPT meetings; and the activities sponsored by CAPT are for the whole school community. Only CAPT members who have paid an annual dues contribution are permitted to vote at CAPT meetings. This contribution does not require you to come to meetings or volunteer your time. All donations are tax deductible.
How is my contribution used?
The CAPT contributes to transportation costs for field trips in every grade.
The CAPT contributes to teachers’ own purchases toward extra school supplies for their classrooms.
The CAPT funds assemblies for enrichment, such as author visits and “Geography Guy”.
The CAPT organizes fundraisers such as the Fall Festival, Holiday Shoppe, and Red Sox night.
The CAPT sponsors school-wide events such as the End of Year Picnic.
All monies raised by the CAPT are used exclusively for school activities.
It costs approximately $100 to fund one child’s yearly Hansen experience for programs and a field trip.
