New Oceanside Public Safety Facilities
|
With the help of Measure X funding, it's a new era for Oceanside Public Safety facilities. Last Wednesday, Oceanside's state-of-the-art Fire Training Tower on Jones Road was unveiled and dedicated. Last Thursday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new downtown Fire Station 1. Additionally, a Needs Assessment Study for a new or expanded Police Headquarters is underway. Details

Agritourism Workshop August 9
|
City of Oceanside Planners, in partnership with Visit Oceanside and South Morro Hills, will host an Agritourism Workshop on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the El Corazon Senior Center at 3302 Senior Center Drive from 8:00 – 11:30 a.m. This informative workshop is the next phase in exploring agritourism opportunities in South Morro Hills. The workshop will focus on developing agritourism experiences, with presentations by specialists as well as a panel discussion with farmers and agritourism proponents. RSVP

New Mental Health Resources in Oceanside
|
People experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis in Oceanside now have new resources available to them. San Diego County recently opened a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) at its North Coastal Live Well Center located at 1701 Mission Avenue. The CSU provides community-based 24/7 walk-in services for those in a behavioral health crisis. Additionally, people in crisis can now call or text 9-8-8 for help. Details

Beachfront Improvements Meeting August 17
|
A feasibility study to explore potential improvements to the Junior Seau Beach Community Center, Junior Seau Pier Amphitheater/Bandshell, and the Pier plaza area is underway. The existing site and facilities were evaluated and extensive public feedback was obtained. Potential improvement options were developed based on community input. The final public outreach meeting of the Feasibility Study is scheduled for Wednesday, August 17 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center. We encourage your attendance to view and discuss the proposed improvement options for the site and facilities. More info

City Council Meetings Resume in August
|
After its annual July break, the City Council meetings resume in August. The next meetings occur on August 10 and August 24 at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome. Regular Council meetings are shown live on KOCT and replayed throughout the week. You can also watch the live stream via KOCT's website.
