All Employee Meeting Recap

Thank you to EVERYONE who came to our All Employee Meeting. We are so excited to launch this school year with you!

At our meeting, we discussed our district's new Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and our focuses on academics, culture and leadership for the years to come. To read more about our CSIP, click here

We related our mission and vision back to our Top Gun theme for the year. Remember, "It's not about the plane, it's about the pilot!" You are the elite, trained and prepared for whatever this year brings your way. We are in this together -- you have "wingmen" all around you!

Our Booster Club was there to preview their designs for this fall exclusively for our staff. They're now available online! Scroll to the bottom to see the flyer and find out how to purchase yours.

New Start & Dismissal Time for Lyon & Sweeny

To assist with the traffic flow issues at Highway 174 and Main, Lyon and Sweeny elementaries will have new start and dismissal times, as well as car line patterns for the 2022-23 school year. This is a short-term solution until a more permanent, long-term solution can be implemented to physically adjust these car lines (which continues to be a discussion with the City and local landowners).

Details about these changes were communicated to families in each building's back to school newsletters. Lyon's can be found HERE and Sweeny's can be found HERE.

15-Minute Car Line Reminder

We are once again asking families to not line up for pick-up or drop-off more than 15 minutes early. This year, our School Resource Officers will be enforcing that rule starting on the first day of school. Families who line up too early may be asked to leave school grounds until it is time to pick-up or drop-off students.

This is not only to relieve traffic congestion near our school buildings. It is also a public and school safety issue. School police and local first responders MUST be able to access our buildings in case of an emergency, and they cannot do so if vehicles are blocking the parking lot during school hours. Thank you for your support as we enforce this rule for the safety of our students and staff. Families are being notified of this enforcement before the first day of school.

Care to Wear Wednesdays

Care to Wear Wednesdays are making a comeback! For those who were with us a few years ago, we launched this effort to support our local Care to Learn chapter. It's now time to bring it back! On the third Wednesday of each month, starting September 21, our entire community will be encouraged to wear Care to Learn gear. Our district staff is invited to wear their gear with jeans in exchange for a donation to this great organization.

Details are in the graphic! Get your orders (CLICK HERE) in by August 29 and mark your calendars for the first Care to Wear Day on September 21!
