Hello Neighbors,

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. San Diego understands the destructive power of fires, which is why we know how essential it is to stay prepared. Please visit sandiego.gov/fire/safety for safety tips and more information. If you haven’t already, sign up for Alert San Diego at readysandiego.org to receive notifications about emergencies or disasters in San Diego County.

We want to extend our immense gratitude to all the firefighters and first responders in both San Diego and Los Angeles for their service and bravery.

Here at City Hall, the 2025 legislative year has begun, and our Council Committee assignments have been approved. I will be serving in the following roles:

  • Chair of the Land Use & Housing Committee
  • Vice Chair of the Active Transportation & Infrastructure Committee
  • Vice Chair of the Rules Committee
  • Member of the Budget & Government Efficiency Committee
  • Member of the Economic Development & Intergovernmental Relations Committee

I was also appointed to roles at the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and North County Transit District, two regional planning committees responsible for building transportation infrastructure throughout the San Diego region. These appointments will give me the opportunity to fight for better transportation options for San Diegans and District 6 residents.

Finally, as the Lunar New Year approaches, San Diego is gearing up for incredible celebrations. Join in the festivities listed below, and let's make the Year of the Snake one for the books – happy, healthy, and prosperous! I hope to see you in the community as we celebrate another year!

Stay safe,
