Christian Women’s Fellowship Meeting April 8
The monthly meeting of the Christian Women’s Fellowship will be on Monday, April 8th in Jenkins Hall. Social time begins at 10:15 am, with the meeting starting at 10:30 am. This month storyteller, Joye Cauthen will be leading our program.
All ladies of Tucker First are invited to attend.

Pioneers April Gathering
Join us on Thursday, April 11 at 11:30 am in Jenkins Hall. We will enjoy lunch and fellowship. Our program this month will be about Spring flowers led by David Funderburk.

Sports Camp During VBS Week
Tucker First is once again teaming up with the Tucker Rec Center to host a sports-themed camp for Tucker First VBS participants.
Each day after VBS, the children participating in Sports Camp will be walked over to the Activities Center for an afternoon of activities, including lacrosse, basketball, wiffleball, soccer, flag football and more.
Children are asked to pack a lunch for lunchtime between VBS and Sports Camp. Registration and payment for Sports Camp is provided through City of Tucker Parks and Recreation. Register here Sports Camp Registration

Wednesday Night Suppers
Wednesday Night Suppers are returning for the Spring! We serve from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm in the Activities Center. Join us before or after your Wednesday night groups and choirs. Dinners can be dine-in or carry-out. • Adults $10; Children (12 and under) $5; Children (2 and under free); Family Max $30 • Register online http://www.tuckerfirst.org/wednesday-night-supper.html or call the church office at 770-938-3030. Vacation Bible School Call for Volunteers
Vacation Bible School will be held June 17-21, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM .
Volunteers Sign-up NOW! We love our volunteers and need over 100 people to make our VBS successful. Our largest need is group guides (we usually need at least 58 group guides to be Safe Sanctuary compliant!) This position is great because you have little preparation, you get to connect with a group of kids for the week, get to see the Opening and Closing Assembly and experience each area rotation - including SNACK TIME! You also get a FREE t-shirt!!
Additionally, we need at least 30 adults and youth to help with our rotations: CRAFTS, MUSIC, STORY TELLING, SNACK, RECREATION, SCIENCE, ACTORS for OPENING/CLOSING ASSEMBLY and SOUND/VIDEO TECHNICIANS. This is great fun because you get to be the first ones to know the secret of our THEME, get to see ALL the kids and volunteers throughout the day and be part of presenting the Gospel of Jesus to our students and volunteers! You also get a FREE t-shirt!!
If you cannot commit to the full week - we need approximately 20 additional people to help with REGISTRATION on Monday Morning! Don’t miss the fun! Volunteer TODAY!!

Blue jeans, BBQ and Blueprints Festival for
DeKalb Habitat for Humanity
Come Saturday April 27 from 10am - 6pm and meet the Dekalb branch of Habitat for Humanity. Located at 2380 4th Street in Tucker (behind First Baptist Church).
They will be building playhouses in the parking lot, for your enjoyment and education.
Be on the lookout for a signupgenius if you want to volunteer to help with the event (2 hour shifts). Otherwise, just attend to get up to date on their calendar of events and past accomplishments.

Appalachia Service Project Trip October 3-6
We are scheduling an ASP trip to the Tri-Cities area - Johnsonville, TN October 3-6 with Embry Hills UMC. We will leave Thursday morning and work two days (Friday and Saturday) and then return Sunday. The cost will be $150 per participant.

Tuesday Lectionary Bible Study
This study meets Tuesdays at 2:30 pm in Jenkins Hall. This bible study is "no preparation required" and "come as you are, when you can." It's a wonderful time to be together and study the word of God. We hope to see you there!

Preschool Summer Camps
Preschool-aged children (ages: 3 - 5; must be potty trained) are invited to join for Summer Camp! We are offering themed camps for 3 weeks this summer. Camp is staffed by our Weekday Preschool Teachers and Youth Helpers. Please bring a refillable water bottle, a morning snack and a lunch (we are unable to refrigerate or heat). Please apply sunscreen prior to arrival.

June 24-28 - Art Week

PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR 2024-25
Preschool registration for the upcoming school year is open.Our school day is 9:00am until 1:00pm. Our school year runs mid-August through Mid-May. We generally follow the DeKalb County School System holiday and weather calendar. The 2024-25 school year is August 14, 2024 – May 14, 2025. Please contact the Preschool office at preschool@tfumc.org

Nursery Openings – Nursery Attendants and Nursery Coordinator
We have immediate openings for Nursery Attendants on Sunday mornings, Tuesday evenings and potentially for other dates as scheduled. Applicants should be persons of Christian character and should enjoy working with children. They should be at least 18 years of age with prior experience caring for young children – ages 6 months to 5 years andable to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including lifting up to 35 pounds. Hourly, part-time position.
We also have an opening for Nursery Coordinator. This person is responsible for supervising the Nursery Attendants on Sunday mornings and assisting with children as needed, entering attendance records, scheduling workers for events, greeting parents and children on Sunday mornings and assisting with directing visitors to appropriate locations in the facility.
Applicant should be a person of Christian character and should excel at interpersonal relations, be friendly and engaging. They should be at least 18 years of age and able to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including lifting up to 35 pounds.Hourly, part-time position.
