International Student Check-In and Orientation

Get ready to start your academic journey soon, Buckeye! From learning a new skill to exploring new interests, Ohio State offers a wide range of classes to help you explore your passions. Your academic advisor will reach out soon regarding registering for classes.

Make sure you take a moment to review the Code of Student Conduct before classes start. It's important to know Ohio State's standards regarding academic integrity to ensure you don't violate this code.

Course registration for Autumn 2024

The Office of International Affairs is not responsible for registering your courses. Course registration is conducted separately from your International Student Orientation by an assigned academic advisor in your respective college or school.

Your college or school’s academic advisor will contact you directly through your BuckeyeMail account before July 15 to begin the process. If your advisor has not contacted you by July 15, please contact global-engagement@osu.edu using your BuckeyeMail account, and we will direct you to the appropriate advisor to contact. To help expedite this process, please include your full name, name.# email, declared major or program, and if you are on campus or enrolled in distance education for autumn semester.

Academic integrity and conduct in the United States

Misunderstanding these rules could lead you to violate the Code of Student Conduct, which has very serious consequences, so it is important that you educate yourself on topics such as plagiarism, when it is okay to work with others, proper exam behavior and other standards of academic conduct.

Every semester, the Office of International Affairs offers academic success workshops covering a variety of topics, including academic conduct standards and expectations. You can also view a list of academic resources around the university for more individualized help.

The Office of International Affairs sends weekly pre-arrival emails to address the most important topics for incoming international students and help prepare for your transition to campus. Each email covers different topics you need to know before starting the semester and is archived on our website.
