Sarasota’s Historic Good Friday Pilgrimage 

Everyone is invited to Walk Your Faith this Holy Week by experiencing “The Way” or “STATIONS of the Cross” on March 29. Twenty-six Ministers of fourteen Denominations will take part in this event including our Pastor Rev. Dr. Blyth. With six denominational Deans/Principals participating, over 100 congregations are represented. The procession will stop for worship and prayer at each of the 14 STATIONS. The STATIONS of the Cross journey offers an opportunity to reflect on the different moments of Christ’s passion journey. A service booklet sharing the acts of worship for each STATION will be distributed to all pilgrims.

The pilgrimage begins to gather at 7 a.m. and starts at 7:20 a.m. in front of the Regal Hollywood movie theater on Main Street. For those who would like to park at the final STATION (Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave.), Siesta Trolley will transport pilgrims from Redeemer to Regal Hollywood starting at 6 a.m. Pilgrims will reach the final STATION at about 8:30 a.m. After the pilgrimage, everyone is invited to attend a brief Morning Prayer Service in the church. Come observe Christ’s passion on the day the world celebrates it.

A NEW TASK FORCE IS FORMED

We are excited to announce a new Alternative Worship Task Force has been formed by Church Council. Led by Debra Buttaggi, with Pr. Ken and Michael among those participating, this group will explore new ideas and possibilities for worship opportunities outside of our current 9 & 11am Sunday services. 

Our Sunday 5pm services will not resume after Easter; the task force will consider new options and will bring them to Church Council later in the summer for consideration.

2nd Annual Kids Against Hunger

Food Packing Event

SAKLC Community Service Ministry is partnering with Kids Against Hunger for this incredible volunteer event. Gather as a community to help package food that will be sent to food pantries in our area! Our goal is to have 100 volunteers to pack the food. Your helping hands and giving hearts are needed to provide food to the hungry in our community.

Movement and Gratitude Exercise Class

Please join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00am for exercise class in Fellowship Hall or on Zoom. Our instructor, Karri Weber, is happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact her at 708-224-1987 or karriweber@gmail.com.

Class description below:

Functional movement for is the mission! With a mix of of joint fluidity and stability utilizing low impact aerobics, strengthening, stretching and body movement to feel good music. Light inviting atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. Focus is on injury prevention and connecting to the body. This class also incorporates improving balance and range of motion. A low intensity but high efficiency well-rounded workout with a warm and uplifting atmosphere! 

Modifications and use of chairs optional! Class is especially geared towards seniors but all ages and degrees of health are welcome!

Name Tags

If you’ve ordered a name tag, they are hanging on the name tag wall outside of the sanctuary. Don’t forget to wear your name tag on Sundays in order to get to know your neighbor! If you still need a name tag, please contact Nina at nina@saklc.com or at 941-388-1234. 

In Need of Medical Equipment?

Are you in need of medical equipment? We often get requests from members and friends who are looking for something to borrow for a short period during recovery. Contact the Church Office if you have any medical equipments needs.

Interested in sponsoring Altar Flowers? The 2024 Flower Calendar is now in the Narthex. The following dates are in need of sponsors in the month of April:
