PVNA Bylaws & Policy Manual Update - Send Your Feedback by September 24

The PVNA Board has been revising our Association's Bylaws and writing a Policies and Procedures manual to complement it.

We would like to solicit neighborhood feedback as an important part of the process. Feedback will be accepted from Sunday 9/17 to Sunday 9/24 so we have time to review and apply edits.

Note, the Policies and Procedures is still a work in progress, and will be an ever-evolving document that the Board can update throughout the year with Board approval. It is intended to offer more flexibility for certain Board operations, and serve as our "How To" manual

Click on the link below to read the draft bylaws. To comment, you can add a comment to the document, or send an email to info@paloverdeneighborhood.org with your comments included.

TEP Open House about electrical poles in Midtown

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) is hosting an open house on Thursday, September 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel—Reid Park

(445 S. Alvernon Way) to discuss the current format of their plan for "midtown transmission line upgrades". The plan will add large electrical poles to a yet-to-be-determined Midtown area. The proposed plan with maps and online comment form can be seen at www.tep.com/midtown-reliability-project. KOLD also ran a story on the project which can be viewed at https://www.kold.com/2023/09/01/tep-seeks-input-midtown-reliability-project/.

There is a real possibility that these large electrical poles will run through parts of the Palo Verde neighborhood, so please take a look at the provided information and add your comments!

PVNA Meeting with Tucson Dept of Transportation & Mobility - Camino Miramonte Bike Boulevard

On Monday, September 25 at 6 p.m. the PVNA Board has scheduled a Zoom meeting to discuss the planned route for a bicycle boulevard through the Palo Verde Neighborhood.

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility is about to kick off a route alternatives analysis for the Camino Miramonte - Palo Verde Bicycle Boulevard. They have hired a national expert on bicycle and pedestrian planning and design (https://tooledesign.com/to conduct the analysis, and are soliciting neighborhood feedback about which routes they should analyze.

At this meeting project manager Collin Chesston will provide an overview of the project, update us on the alternatives analysis, and get neighborhood input on the routes that you think the consultant should look at more closely.
