Subtropical storm Nicole has formed overnight and has put Palm Beach County under a hurricane watch and a storm surge watch. This storm is expected to intensify to a category 1 hurricane before making landfall somewhere between Miami and the Space Coast by Wednesday night.
Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate by Tuesday evening with heavy downpours and severe gusts as the rain squalls move into our area. Flooding is possible on Wednesday as the storm approaches the peninsula. The worst weather is expected on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, with possibly hurricane force winds, isolated tornadoes and flooding. High waves, beach erosion and coastal flooding will be likely along the coastal areas.
Please take this threat seriously and get ready.
Remove debris from your yard as loose objects can become projectiles as the storm moves through.
Palm Beach County’s Division of Emergency Management and county staff have started preparations. Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency which will help governments in dealing with the storm's possible impacts.
Pay close attention to the storm's development
over the next days and be prepared.
