A MESSAGE FROM YOUR SUPERINTENDENT

Summer is here!

The dust has finally settled on a successful 2021-22 school year, and while our students and instructional staff take some time to recharge and unwind this summer, Marlette Community Schools is busy preparing for another BIG year in 2022-23.

The maintenance and cleaning crews are working hard to make our buildings shine. The crew has teamed up to complete projects throughout the District with the common goal of having the buildings ready by the time we open for the first day of school on August 29th. New touchless toilets and sinks are being installed in each building and at our sports complex, and the tile floors are getting some extra special treatment this summer to bring out their sparkle.

The Jr/Sr High School has a new look with an illuminated marquee out front on Marlette St. and a "Raider-ed Out" front entrance makeover. If the supply chain cooperates, students will notice the upgrade to our sound system in the gym, the cafeteria at the Jr/Sr High School, and the PA systems in both buildings.

Our Jr/Sr High School is preparing for a new 7-hour school day and adding the 6th grade to our student body ranks. Other notable plans for 2022-23 include an introduction to Restorative Practices for all staff and students, a continuation of the Leader in Me program, and the implementation of NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessments for all Marlette students in grades K-12. Students will again be assigned a Chromebook to use for educational purposes. Our classrooms will look crisp with new 75-inch flat panel interactive televisions to support instructional delivery and increase student learning and interaction.

A new look is coming to our sports complex with some new paint on our buildings, renovated Block House restrooms, and additional restrooms near our bleachers/press box.

The summer months fly quickly by, so I urge everyone to relax and spend some time doing what they love to do. More information will be coming your way about the 2022-23 school year, and don't forget to mark your calendar for the Red Raider Rally on August 17 from 10 am-4 pm.

We have positions in a variety of departments in our district. If you love working with kids, this could be your new work home. Clearances are required upon hire, and the school district offers competitive salaries and may include some benefits.
