COVID Vaccines for children ages 6 months to 4 years

COVID can make children very sick and can have long term effects on their health. Vaccination is the primary method of avoiding this. The County of Santa Clara and many community clinics now offer the COVID vaccine for these young children. Check with your doctor now to get your child vaccinated AND make sure that your child is up to date with other important vaccinations and screenings. Visit SCCFreeVax.org to schedule an appointment or find drop-in clinics. Watch the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s press conference with segments in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Tagalog to learn more.

Safety Information for the 2022 Wildfire Season

This year may well be the worst year for fires in California’s history. There have already been more than 4,600 fire incidents and over 53,000 acres burned in 2022. Wildfire smoke can irritate your lungs, cause inflammation, affect your immune system, and make you more prone to lung infections, including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Visit our Wildfire Smoke page for important information about air quality, respirators, and protecting yourself, your family, and your pets from wildfire smoke this year.
