The PEI Marathon is the 2nd largest Marathon in Atlantic Canada and is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. Since its first event in 2004, the PEI Marathon has attracted over 25,000 participants to PEI to run, walk, and wheel in October. This event has annually attracted participants from every Province in Canada, the USA, and internationally to Prince Edward Island with off Island participants making up 49 – 51% of our total numbers each year.
The 19th Annual PEI Marathon Weekend is scheduled to take place October 13th - 15th, 2023. The Marathon weekend has grown to include 12 running and walking categories all taking place between Saturday and Sunday in the downtown Charlottetown area. Over these two days the PEI Marathon can expect up to 2,500 adults and kids participating in the following categories:

Sunday, October 15th
- Full Marathon
- Team Relay
- Half Marathon Run
- Half Marathon Walk

The goal has always been to make this event a family friendly weekend while also giving back to our community. Throughout the years we have supported over 6,700 children with our FREE Kids Event. We are gearing up for another successful year and we look forward to having many downtown Charlottetown businesses take part in this exciting Marathon Weekend!
