"Care About Abortion? Care for UUs. Care for Us!"

22.05.022 Reproductive bug.jpg
SUNDAY'S ORDER OF SERVICE

The Rev. Denise Cawley

Wisconsin will be one of the states that will lose access to abortion in June. There are larger issues at risk that more forms of birth control will be revoked as well as what right-wing, conservative-leaning ideologists see as ‘identity politics’ like same-gender marriage, access to transgender medicine, and rights for LGBTQ people and women. All of these have a devastating impact on the real people we love. Limiting access to body autonomy and democracy, are of deep concern to Unitarian Universalist people.

Circle Round for Healing:

Honoring Suicide Loss

June 29, 6 pm

Our congregation was shaken when long-time member Sue Morgan died by suicide in downtown Wauwatosa last year. As we approach the anniversary of that passing, many still hold pain, loss, and trauma from that death as well as feelings around suicide. This will be a healing circle where anyone can join us for a covenanted ritual. We will have an opportunity to share where we are today, how we have or have not healed, and to lay down our thoughts in a sacred ring of love.

LIVING OUR VALUES

Earth Ministry Clean.jpg

Does cleaning keep you healthy or make you sick? Check out the Earth Ministry table in church this Sunday and find out some things about cleaning products that may be a problem for us and the environment. How to evaluate the products you use is important for both! Recipes for products to make at home with safe, less expensive ingredients will be available. There will be samples of some of them for you to take home. Questions? Contact Julie Toman.

Don’t miss the first-time viewing of Kaleidoscope’s original composition entitled “The Thread.”

We’re all connected: an interdependent whole. We make promises about how to be together, and how to be in the world. We also fall short of honoring those promises, inviting us to repair and strengthen the strands of community. The choice to mend broken strands of the web is an act of faithfulness. Join Rev. Dr. Susan Frederick-Gray and other UUA leaders for this special recorded service.

Board of Trustees Representative Laurie Boddie will be your in-person host while the staff enjoys some well-deserved time away. Watch the service on the giant TV surrounded by members and friends.
