Good Afternoon Parents!

Can you believe it?  The last week of school!  This is such a fun time of year with such anticipation and excitement for the upcoming summer and the upcoming school year.

Our students have been hard at work preparing for their final exams which start today and go throughout the rest of the week.  I have been encouraging them week in and week out to FINISH STRONG and this week is the week to do it.

We are capping the week off with a yearbook signing party on Friday after the 4th period exam.  PTO is graciously providing treats for this event and we are excited to welcome parent volunteers to help us with this opportunity.  There is a sign up below if you would like to help out!  If your student won’t be here on Friday, we will be in the office the first week of summer to hand out yearbooks to parents.  If your student did not order a yearbook, you may send them with $65 cash, EXACT CHANGE, and they will be sold on a first come first serve basis.  One thing that we communicated with students yesterday is that these books are special to students and to please not write or draw anything inappropriate in someone else’s yearbook.  We will request that if a yearbook is defaced that the family of the student who ruined the yearbook pay for the ruined book.  Certainly, we are hoping to not have to go down this road, but we wanted to make sure that the expectation was set.

Also, please encourage your students to leave their backpacks at home on Friday.  All they need to bring with them is a pen to sign yearbooks and maybe a pencil for their test.  We will not want a bunch of bags out at the yearbooks signing party, and if they leave their backpacks at home, this will not be a concern.  If your student has something that they need to carry, they could consider a fanny pack (I hear those are back in now) or a small string bag.  But, we would prefer to just leave them at home altogether.

Parents, please enjoy your summer with your kids.  We will be so excited to see them when we return on August 15th.  We want to encourage you to soak up every minute with them that you can this summer!

Thank you again for your continued support of Willow Springs Middle School and Lovejoy ISD!

Respectfully,

Chris

WSMS Library Material Due Date

Good Afternoon Families,

As we are nearing the end of the school year, we are collecting materials and getting all materials returned for inventory. All library materials are now past due. We will be sending out notices daily to let you know what items your student still has checked out so that you and your family can look for and locate these materials. If you are unable to locate these materials, you can pay for them on RevTrak using the link below. Remember, if your student does not clear their account by Thursday, they will not receive a yearbook on Friday. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Important News from Student Nutrition

Regarding Student Meal Accounts

This is a courtesy message from Lovejoy Student Nutrition Services to inform households of an upcoming change in student meal accounts. In an effort to minimize negative balances at the end of the school year, beginning Wednesday, May 11th and for the remainder of the school year, students will no longer be able to charge meals which will result in the student incurring a negative balance to their meal account. Students may continue to use their lunch accounts as long as they have money in the account. Households with students who currently have negative balances will receive reminder emails and phone calls. Federal regulations prohibit us from rolling over negative balances to the next school year. Please make arrangements to remit payment for any negative lunch accounts your child may have incurred.

All positive balances will be rolled over to next school year. If you have a graduating senior, funds may be transferred to any sibling in the school district. To request a meal account refund, please complete a refund request form located on the Student Nutrition website. For assistance, please contact Student Nutrition at 469.742.8041.

Student Nutrition Services thanks you for your understanding and for allowing us to serve your student(s) this school year.
