Characteristics and Prescribing Patterns of Clinicians Waivered to Prescribe Buprenorphine for Opioid Use Disorder Before and After Release of New Practice Guidelines
This study compared clinicians with traditional DATA 2000 waivers to those with education-exempted waivers and found challenges limiting buprenorphine prescribing, emphasizing the need to address these barriers for improved access.
This review emphasizes the importance of optimizing buprenorphine use to reduce overdose deaths from fentanyl. Research supports higher doses up to 32 mg/d, suggesting an update to the package label and elimination of the 16 mg/d target dose for improved treatment effectiveness and saving lives.
